““You are enough””
Hi, I’m Chris, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Iowa. I work with individuals who are seeking a deeper understanding of themselves, their relationships, and the experiences that have shaped them. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and rooted in the belief that healing happens when you feel safe enough to show up as you are.
I have been licensed as an LMHC in Iowa since 2022 and have worked with teenagers and adults in navigating trauma, attachment wounds, identity exploration, and the lasting impact of difficult life experiences.
My work has included supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds, with a particular emphasis on working with LGBTQ+ individuals and those whose identities or relationships have not always felt fully understood or affirmed.
These experiences have shaped me into a therapist who is trauma-informed, affirming, and deeply attuned to how past experiences live on in the present — emotionally, relationally, and in the body.

Specialities
My therapeutic approach is trauma-informed, attachment-focused, and integrative, with an emphasis on helping clients feel both grounded and empowered in session. I am trained in EMDR, which I use to help clients process and integrate traumatic or distressing experiences in a way that feels paced and supportive. I also incorporate attachment-focused work to explore how early relational experiences continue to influence current relationships, self-worth, and emotional patterns.
Additionally, I draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, helping clients build awareness and compassion for different parts of themselves rather than feeling at odds internally. In sessions, this often looks like slowing down, increasing emotional and body awareness, and gently exploring patterns with curiosity rather than judgment. My goal is to help clients develop a stronger sense of safety, self-trust, and connection — both within themselves and in their relationships.
