During my time at Drake University, I have been educated in a person-centered approach. I strongly believe in showing all my clients unconditional positive regard, and I believe that everyone has the power to reach their full potential. I also use parts work as a tool to help individuals understand their internal systems and how these systems affect how they see themselves, others, and the world. I also strive to be a trauma-informed therapist and understand how trauma can affect a person's body and mind. Trauma-informed therapy shifts the focus from “What is wrong with you” to “What has happened to you,” allowing for compassion and understanding in the therapeutic space. I strive to be a therapist who understands my clients and their triggers to help build a safe, healing environment.
